DAY 1: Delhi to Mcleodganj drive (478.9 KMS| 11 HRS)
Let’s kick start the first day of our Ultimate Himachali Backpacking Road Trip. You will meet your Tour Lead and other fellow travellers. After some time, if hunger pangs have started kicking in, it’s not your fault. You are in Northern Part of India and that too in Delhi. If you are coming here for the first time, then on your way to Little Lhasa aka Mcleodganj, a pitstop at Murthal will help you a deal- little food joints and dhaba serves delicious food. The roads are fairly good and the transition from the planes to the hills is heavenly. Once reached, you will be alloted tents. Freshen up and we suggest you to take ample rest.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Mcleodganj
This day, you will be transcended to the world of tranquility. Soak in the fresh air, take some rest in your picturesque campsite. After having breakfast, we will start our day by exploring Dala Lama Temple, Bhagsunag falls. Afterwards, drive to Gyuoto Karmapa Temple in lower Dharamshala. This temple is a must see as the moment you will enter it seems like you have stepped into another world. This monastery is nestled in Dhaualadhar range. The place is simply magical. The architecture is overwhelming, especially the statue of Lord Budha. Then after sometime we will head towards Norbulingka Institute a great place to explore Tibetian culture and art. The main attraction there is Namgayal monastery. For food lovers, various little cafes are there and fashion enthusiasts also can find a beautiful shop out there. We are sure something will fancy your eyes and will be a nice addition in one’s wardrobe. Later come back around evening, take some rest and enjoy the calmness wrapped in the warmth of bonfire along with your dinner. Overnight stay will be in campsite.
Day 3: Mcleodganj to Bir Billing Paragliding( 72 KMS| 2:30 HRS)
After breakfast, you will be heading towards the Land of PARAGLIDING- BIR. But hey! you are in for a surprise because it’s just not paragliding that this beautiful hamlet has to offer, it’s more than that. Once reached, enjoy the vibes of Monkey Mudhouse Camps. Relax and enjoy the lunch as you are going to get away from these pesky calories soon. After some time, be prepared for the Hike to a beautiful Bari village and sunset point.
Explore the cafes around and afterwards, reach the campsite later in in the evening. Monkey Mudhouse camps have a proud history of giving their travellers an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss out on enjoying their hospitality. Fill up your bellies and enjoy the Himachali music along with the bonfire. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 4: BIR TO KASOL (160 KMS| 5:30 HRS)
After gathering pocket full of experiences, it will be time to bid adieu to the beautiful Dhaualadhar range and its time head towards our next phase- the euphoric Pravati Valley. Today, we will leave in the early hours of the morning as we have far too exciting things to assimilate. Though on the way you will be taken for Rafting. Shout out and paddle your way through gushing rapids. After some time, continue driving towards Kasol. Once reached, behold- because the breathtakingly beautiful vistas in front of you are never going to end.
You will be allotted your tents. Then in no time, we will get ready to walk towards, what is known as Trance and Psychedelic party village- Chalaal. This little village is tucked in the conifer dense forest. The walk doesn’t take more than an hour hyphenated with breaks. One can sit at the end of the village admiring the beauty of fiercely flowing Parvati river. Since you had a pretty packed day, we would request you to give your body proper rest. Tomorrow will be a new dawn with another adventure.
Day 5: Kasol to Tosh ( 20 KMS| 1 HR)
On this day, wake up to beautiful sunrise. Take this day as it comes and don’t forget to feel the lovely light feeling that must be lingering in your mind. We will get ready for your trek to Tosh- the last village in the valley, Tosh is at a height of 7,874 feet. It is a land blessed by Shiva, they say, and the local priest asserts to visions of the lord with his consort Parvati when snowfalls. The drive from Kasol to Tosh parking stand is around an hour’s drive and the last becomes a wee bit treacherous.
Upon reaching, we will start our trek- one of the most beautiful scenic routes that you will experience. This little hamlet, constantly, dwarfed by intimidating mountains is at the heart of Parvati Hydel Project. It’s a goat track which traverses the hill with gradual inclines and declines. Upon reaching waterfalls, The only thing you expect to do here is to sit, relax and unwind your senses. Listen to the beautiful sound of gushing water, and the night ends with fun and laughter. Please do not litter and also be mindful of their culture and heritage and you will always want to come back.
Overnight stay in the camps. Enjoy the scrumptious meal that this campsite provides and enjoy some foot-tapping music as this place calls for it.
Day 6: Tosh to Manali drive ( 95 KMS| 3HRS)
We will start our journey bit early, On this day, Manali, a cultural hub of Himachal Pradesh welcomes you! Once reached, you will come to our campsite which is just a few steps away from the river so that once you step onto our campsite, the first thing that you will hear is the sound of a flowing river. Get comfortable in your tents and roam around the area which is amidst the apple trees. Freshen up and rest for a while. After some time, you will be taken for an adventurous hike which is what Manali is famous for. The hike to Jogni waterfall begins from Hadimba Temple and its stretches onto the quaint edges of the Vashisht Village.
The waterfall marks the village boundary and is regarded as a sacred place with attached beliefs and the sweet sound of solitude gushing from the falls. You emerge onto a path that leads steadily uphill through dense forest and after a pleasant three hours walk through forests of Oak, Fir and Deodar. All this leads you to Jogini that greets with its cascading song of sacred waters and a pool formed below to take a dip and feel like heaven. To de-stress, take a refreshing dip and enjoy the music of the chirping birds and swaying leaves.
Day 7: MANALI TO DELHI
With a heavy heart, let’s bid our goodbyes to one of the most exciting road trips that we have experienced so far. We will start our journey towards the capital at a reasonable time.
